Sustainability

As a manufacturer of building products, TEROSON has prepared corresponding documents (product declarations and manufacturer’s declarations) that the fabricator can submit to the responsible auditor. In Europe, there are also other certification systems for sustainable buildings (e.g. DGNB, LEED), for which TEROSON also prepares documentation.

The various certification systems differ significantly in their requirements for the individual products that are to be installed in buildings certified as sustainable.

BREEAM

Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method & BRE Global Ltd

The BREEAM system is a voluntary process that has been active on the UK market since 1990 and on the international market since 1998. The focus here is on the environmental impact of buildings, which are assessed on the basis of the “British Standard”. 9 categories are available for awarding points in order to achieve the levels “Unclassified” to “Outstanding”.

LEED

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – U.S. Green Building Council

The LEED system is a voluntary process that has been active in the USA and the international market since 1998. The focus here is on energy, which is assessed on the basis of the ASHRAE standards. 9 categories are available for awarding points in order to achieve the “Certified” to “Platinum” levels.

DGNB

German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB GmbH) – German Sustainable Building Council

The DGNB system is a voluntary procedure that is assessed on the basis of DIN standards and has been active on the national and international market since 2008. 5 categories are available within the three pillars of sustainability (ecological, economic and socio-cultural quality) for awarding points in order to achieve the “Bronze” to “Platinum” levels.

BNB

Sustainable Building Rating System (Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community) – German Sustainable Building Council

The German Sustainable Building Rating System was developed and introduced in 2011 by the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development in cooperation with the DGNB. It is binding for federal construction measures and is also based on the three pillars of sustainability. Here too, 5 categories are available for awarding points in order to achieve the “Bronze” to “Gold” levels.Order new TEROSON Profi-Guide
